Biography

ABOUT SARAH

Sarah studied at Manchester University, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and took her MBA at Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York.

Sarah first stood in the States as a Deputy for St Brelade No.1 and then as a Senator. She has served on the Health, Social Security and Legislation Committees. Sarah was the first Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and followed this up by chairing the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel. She also chaired the Chairmen’s’ Committee.

More recently she has also served on the Corporate Services and Health and Social Services Scrutiny Panels and on the Care of Children Review Panel which is following up the recommendations of the Committee of Enquiry and she joined the Future Hospital Review Panel.

Sarah is Chairman of Age Concern, Vice Chairman of the Management Committee of the Sea Cadets, is on the management committee of Maison St Brelade and is a member of the St Brelades Bay Development Group (a Committee formed by the Connétable to follow up the propositions to prepare a Local Development Plan for St Brelades Bay). She is a director of a local independent hotel.

She is also an occasional scorer for cricket matches and lists amongst her hobbies travel, computers and technology in general, reading, gardening, music, politics ….and shopping!

Worked as Investment Analyst for a former local stockbroker

Ran a local retail clothing business called “Tartans” in Broad Street

Worked for Deloitte Haskins & Sells (Now PriceWaterhouseCoopers)

Joined Financial Services Department as a Compliance Regulator and was a part of the transition to the JFSC.

Between 2000-2002 served the Parish of St. Brelade in the Honorary Police finishing as a Centenier.

2002-2008 Serving St. Brelade until 2008 as a Deputy for Number One district.

2004- Board of Maison St. Brelade

2005-2016 Board of Jersey Sea Cadets Currently Vice Chairman

2008-2014 Serving the island as a Senator.

2008-2013 Board of JSPCA
